Saudi Arabia issues licence for Neom hydrogen plant
1.2mn t/yr green ammonia complex is still scheduled for startup in 2026, although FID remains outstanding
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has issued an industrial operating licence for Neom Green Hydrogen Company, a joint venture between government affiliated developer Acwa, US industrial gases company Air Products and state economic zone developer Neom. The $5bn green hydrogen and ammonia complex is expected to produce up to 1.2mn t/yr of ammonia, to be globally exported through an exclusive offtake agreement with Air Products.
