Ineos signs solar PPA to cut emissions at US plants
Firm to take entire output of new 310MW project in Texas
Petrochemicals producer Ineos O&P USA has signed a renewable energy power-purchase agreement (PPA) that is expected to achieve greenhouse gas emissions reductions of more than 320,000t/yr at its US facilities. The PPA covers the entire output of a new 310MW solar project at Bosque County, Texas, that will be constructed and operated by a subsidiary of US renewables and battery storage company Nextera Energy Resources. Construction is expected to start in Q1 2024, with commercial operation due to begin in December 2025. 320,000t/yr – Expected emissions reductions The project, with an output of 730,000MWh/yr, will cover the net purchased electricity load of all 14 of the Ineos’ US
