Global leaders must come together and agree to a carbon price, transparent reporting and other measures if the Paris targets are to be met
Pressure is building on national leaders to reach agreement on concrete measures to underpin the energy transition at the UN Cop26 meeting next year, a panel of experts agreed on a PE Live webcast last week. Cop26, delayed due to the pandemic, will take place in Glasgow in less than a year. While targets have been set at previous meetings, notably the Paris Agreement at Cop21, an international framework to facilitate decarbonisation remains incomplete.
