Efforts to bolster 2030 emission reduction targets put forward as part of the Cop26 climate talks still put the world on course for a temperature rise of 2.4°C by the end of the century, according to independent climate analysis consortium Climate Action Tracker (CAT). Countries have set 2030 emissions reduction goals as part of their contributions to the Paris Agreement. Many—including China and India—have also set net-zero emissions goals for later in the century.
