Schlumberger rebrands to reflect transition focus
Houston-based oil and gas services company becomes SLB and outlines strategy including focus on hydrogen, geothermal and CCUS
Schlumberger, the world’s biggest oil and gas services company, has changed its name to SLB in a rebranding to reflect its stronger focus on the energy transition and decarbonisation. “Our new identity symbolises SLB's commitment to moving further and faster in facilitating the world's energy needs today and forging the road ahead for the energy transition,” says Olivier Le Peuch, CEO of the Houston-based company. “It is a bold challenge. But the legacy of our people, technology and performance are unmatched, and we are ready to answer this challenge.” SLB’s strategy will focus on four main areas: new energy systems; industrial decarbonisation; digital at scale; and oil and gas innovation.
