Eni and CIP partner for Polish offshore wind

The two firms expand existing French partnership with an eye to bidding in upcoming CfD auctions

Italian oil and gas giant Eni and fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) have agreed to jointly develop offshore wind in Poland. Eni and CIP join a range of partnerships aiming to bid for Poland’s first offshore wind projects. Danish developer Orsted and Polish utility ZE PAK, US engineering giant GE and Polish oil and gas firm PKN Orlen, and Spanish energy company Acciona and UK utility SSE have all signed memorandums of understanding to jointly develop offshore wind in the Baltic Sea. Poland plans to build 5.9GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030 and 11GW by 2040 as part of its ambition to phase out coal-fired power by 2049. The Polish government signed its Offshore Wind Sect
