Solar developer launches largest US onsite solar facility dedicated to a single customer
Solar developer Lightsource BP has launched its 300MW Bighorn Solar project in Colorado, which will supply nearly all the power demand at steelmaker Evraz’s Pueblo mill. Bighorn Solar is located on 1,800 acres of land on Evraz’s Rocky Mountain property and is the largest onsite solar facility in the US dedicated to a single customer, with more than 750,000 solar panels providing nearly all the plant’s annual electricity demand. The power is supplied by US utility Xcel Energy under a 20-year power-purchase agreement (PPA) signed with Lightsource BP.
