Wind turbine prices are expected to rise by up to 10pc over the next 12-18 months due to surging commodity prices and shipping costs, according to analysis from consultancy Wood Mackenzie. Turbine makers are raising prices in response to soaring costs for steel, copper, aluminium and fibre, coupled with a fourfold increase in logistics costs. US import duties on turbine components from China have made matters worse, Wood Mackenzie says.
