Stockholm Energi in joint ventures
Stockholm Energi and the US company Trigen Energy Corp. have formed a joint venture that will allow Trigen to expand its 11 urban steam systems in North America with Stockholm Energi's technology, distributing hot water to less densely populated areas of each host city. In return, Stockholm Energi will gain access to Trigen's energy products, which include back pressure steam turbines, standard cogeneration units and reinsulation technology. Meanwhile, the Swedish company, which supplies Stockholm with electricity, hot water and gas, has set up a joint venture called Birka Norden AB with Trondheim Energiverk and Imatran Voima Oy (IVO).
