BP sells package of North Sea gas assets
BP AGREED TO sell a swathe of southern North Sea gasfields and gas infrastructure to Perenco last month, continuing its disposal programme for mature assets. The buyer will pay $162m and, subject to approvals, will take over as operator for the 14 BP-operated fields in the sale, including the former-giants Indefatigable and East Leman. BP's share of production from the assets amounts to about 150m cubic feet a day (cf/d). The firm says its share of proved reserves totals about 274bn cf.
