Total launches Dália
A SECOND stand-alone production facility is to be installed in Total's deep-water Block 17, some 135 km offshore. The firm said in May it had Sonangol's approval to launch the $3.4bn development of the Dália field, lying under 1,200-1,500 metres of water just southeast of the block's first producer, Girassol. Start-up is set for second-half 2006. Total's Dália scheme will use a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel with a processing capacity of 240,000 barrels a day (b/d) and 2m barrels of storage. Seabed facilities will include 34 production wells, 30 water-injection wells and three gas-injectors. Dália's subsea architecture will be even more elaborate than that of Giras
