Angola: BP receives Greater Plutonio go-ahead
BP RECEIVED approval from state-owned Sonangol last month to go ahead with its first development in the country. Under the firm's Greater Plutonio project, all six discoveries made in deep-water Block 18 will be developed jointly. The plateau production rate will be in the range 220,000-240,000 barrels a day (b/d), the firm says, with first oil flowing in 2007. The development will tap the Platina, Plutonio, Galio, Paladio, Cromio and Cobalto discoveries, made between May 1999 and December 2000 and all within a 20-km radius.
