CCS offers a route to decarbonise the energy industry and a way to mitigate emissions from hard-to-abate industries. It is a vital element of the energy transition, yet barriers remain to scale up deployment.

Europe has 189* CCUS projects in the pipeline, with 100+ incorporating storage in the North Sea, yet only 25 of these are operational. CCS Strategy Europe will explore how to overcome the barriers to successful development of CCS projects to make a meaningful contribution to the continent’s net-zero goal through understanding and developing a viable business strategy.
