Asian governments should learn from their European counterparts and deploy supportive policies to kickstart the development of carbon capture and storage (CCS) in the region, according to regional energy experts. “Government support is just absolutely critical, and we have seen that provide an impetus to CCS projects and business in Europe,” Li P’ing Yu, CCS general manager in Asia for Shell, told the Asian Development Bank’s recent Asia Clean Energy Forum.
