Consultancy Publicis Sapient has launched the Global EnergyTech Awards, a programme to celebrate and promote world-class innovation in the global energy industry. As the first industry awards focused exclusively on technology within the sector, they are open to energy tech and clean tech startups around the world.

At a time when the energy industry is going through significant change and energy companies are beginning to transition to a zero-carbon future, firms will increasingly have to partner with innovators to scale-up the skills and technology required to reach both their own, and global net-zero, goals.

As a leader in new technologies in the global energy industry, Publicis Sapient’s inaugural EnergyTech Awards will bring the best ideas and talent together, spearheading the shift to a cleaner, greener world.

"The Publicis Sapient EnergyTech awards will bring together a curated list of the very best ideas and innovators within the industry" Tabita, Publicis Sapient

“These are exciting times in energy tech. The energy transition is driving new customer behaviours and expectations, and competition has jumped across business and geographical boundaries,” says Joseph Tabita, energy and commodities lead, Emea, at Publicis Sapient.

“There is a huge opportunity for digital to be a core ingredient as the industry transforms how it produces, stores, trades and delivers energy. As more organisations state their carbon-zero ambitions, they are also considering the talent, skills, resources and technology that will be needed to transform their business models. The Publicis Sapient EnergyTech awards will bring together a curated list of the very best ideas and innovators within the industry.”

Categories at the EnergyTech Awards incorporate the whole lifecycle of the energy sector, from clean energy and electric vehicles, to mobile and energy trading. The full list of categories is as follows: Best Smart Network Solution; Best CleanTech; Best Omni-Channel Customer Experience; Best Mobile Customer Experience; Best Energy Trading Solution; Stand-Out Performer; Best Use of Data and Insights; and Best EV Customer Solution

A panel of judges will be at the helm of the awards and will be comprised of some of the energy industry’s most influential leaders, led by Tabita and Milind Godbole, global energy lead, Publicis Sapient.

“I am delighted to be part of the first Publicis Sapient EnergyTech Awards. EnergyTech has a significant role to play in the transition to net-zero and so I am delighted that Publicis Sapient have created this programme. It demonstrates their long-term commitment to this area,” says Paul Massara, associate, Creative Destruction Labs. “I look forward to seeing many future EnergyTech winners going on to become major enterprises and helping to transform the world we live in.”

The awards will conclude in November with an in-person ceremony held at London’s Television Centre.
