Michillay Brown, Anglo American

Michillay Brown leads Anglo American’s hydrogen economy policy analysis and strategic advocacy, with a specific focus on the UK, EU and US. She has developed and maintained relationships with key stakeholders, including governments and NGOs, with an eye toward opportunities for decarbonisation.

Faustine Delasalle, ETC

During Faustine Delasalle’s tenure as vice-chair, the Energy Transitions Commission (ETC) grew to become a thriving coalition of over 50 energy, industry and civil society leaders and was one of the first organisations to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of achieving net zero globally by mid-century. She also co-authored the Mission Possible report, which focuses on the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors—including via the use of hydrogen.

Michelle Detwiler, Renewable Hydrogen Alliance 

Michelle Detwiler took over the Renewable Hydrogen Alliance, a US green hydrogen trade association, from its founder in 2021 and increased the trade association membership by 50pc in her first year as executive-director. She has also facilitated passage of bills in both the Oregon and Washington legislatures promoting hydrogen derived from renewable energy.

Maria del Pilar Granados, Hidrogeno Colombia

Maria del Pilar Granados is the executive-director for Colombia’s first hydrogen association, drawing on her expertise in the development of public policies for sustainable economic growth in the country. She has 16 years of experience in the formulation and management of strategic projects in sustainability, transportation, and infrastructure in Colombia, for which she has facilitated private-public partnerships. She also works at strategic consultancy Hinicio.

Alisa Holtz, Government of British Columbia

Alisa Holtz has been key in the development of hydrogen policy in the Canadian province of British Columbia. In addition to currently leading on the province’s regulatory framework, she also contributed to the British Columbia Hydrogen Strategy, released in July 2021. As of 2022, British Columbia has been the location for over 40 hydrogen projects proposed or under construction.

Traci Kraus, Cummins

Traci Kraus is a leading advocate for hydrogen and fuel cells in the US and globally. She works with members of Congress and the Biden administration to promote policies the encourage accelerated adoption of these technologies.

Felicia Mester, Hydrogen Europe

Felicia Mester joined Hydrogen Europe in February 2021 responsible for carbon market reform, hydrogen regulatory framework and renewable energy policy files. She previously worked for trade associations Eurogas, with a focus on EU internal gas market regulation, taxation and hydrogen technologies, and Global Solar Council, where she worked on renewable energy policy files and communication strategy.

Daria Nochevnik, Hydrogen Council

Over the past decade, Daria Nochevnik has worked with energy companies, industry associations, policymakers and consultancies helping them navigate the policy and regulatory landscape in Europe, as well as building and successfully implementing their advocacy strategies. She has primarily focused on the development of policy and legislative frameworks for hydrogen, carbon pricing and the design of European wholesale energy markets.

Sunita Satyapal, US Department of Energy

Sunita Satyapal is the director of the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and coordinates hydrogen activities across DOE, other agencies, and countries. She is responsible for more than $1.6 billion in research, development, and demonstration of hydrogen and fuel cells technologies, and spearheaded the development of the overall national clean hydrogen strategy.

Catherine Sheridan, EIH2

Catherine leads the policy and advocacy work for Ireland’s first green hydrogen company, EIH2, as its COO. She combines over 20 years of engineering experience with her passion for community engagement on large-scale sustainability projects. She is also active in trade associations and has engaged with the government to promote hydrogen as a key part of the energy transition.
