About Women in Hydrogen 50

Women in Hydrogen 50 is a list celebrating 50 women working in hydrogen. This is not an award or a ‘top 50’ list, but an opportunity to showcase the range of women working in all areas of the growing hydrogen economy. We hope that this list will increase visibility of the individuals working in the industry as well as the undeniable fact that there are significant numbers of women active in the sector.

Nominations

Nominations are free of charge and open to anyone to nominate as many women as they would like to. These can be your colleagues, friends, partners, speakers you’ve seen at events or women that you know of and believe are doing great things for the industry and for other women.

Nominations open on 8th March 2025 and close on 8th May 2025. During this time you are invited to submit your nominations online or by email to rachel.mcghie@gulfenergyinfo.com. We need the name, job title and company of your nominee as well as a 1,000 character/150 word explanation of why she should be considered for the Women in Hydrogen 50 list and why she is deserving of a place this year in one of the five distinct categories.

Selection

After nominations close, Gulf Energy Information's hydrogen brands Hydrogen Economist and H2Tech will review all nominations and create a shortlist of 20 women per category. On 15th May, the shortlist will be sent to the advisory board who will then score all women on the shortlist based on how well they fit the criteria for their work in hydrogen and their support of other women.

The advisory board will share their rankings by late May February and Hydrogen Economist will then review and the 10 women per category with the lowest score will be selected to the list.

Celebration

Hydrogen Economist will announce the full list of 50 in June 2025 – on social media and via email, and will shine a spotlight on each of the 5 categories throughout the summer. A celebratory networking reception will be held in Houston, co-located with the Women's Global Leadership Conference in Energy (WGLC), on 28-29 October.
