Acorn CCS project awards Feed contract
Study will be carried out by Carbon Clean as part of preparation to start CCS operations by mid-decade
The Pale Blue Dot project in Scotland—also known as the Acorn carbon capture and storage (CCS) project—has awarded a contract for a Feed study on the carbon capture plant at the St Fergus gas terminal. Acorn CCS is in the engineering and design phase. A Feed study is a key part of project planning before FID is taken. Pale Blue Dot is one of four industrial clusters likely to be selected in the first phase of UK the government’s carbon capture, utilisation and storage funding programme, according to industry experts. The study will be carried out by technology provider Carbon Clean, which will work with consultancy Wood on engineering, process design and construction planning for the carbon
