Clarity on targets and supportive regulations will help set a clear roadmap for industry to decarbonise
Industry groups in Europe have welcomed provisions by the EU that will help them transition to a low-carbon economy. The provisions were laid out alongside a new climate law that will set a pathway to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to reach net zero by 2050. The law was provisionally agreed last week and strengthens the interim EU emissions reduction targets as well, laying out a number of key steps that are to be achieved to reach the 2050 goal.
