Scottish CCS cluster to be centred around Acorn project

Emitters in the transport, technology, infrastructure, chemicals, energy and manufacturing sectors could connect to infrastructure

A proposition to capture and store CO₂ in Scotland has expanded to include a larger group of industrial emitters, with the goal of initially capturing 1-2mn t/yr and as much as 18mn t/yr by 2040. The Acorn carbon capture and storage (CCS) and hydrogen project is one of six industrial clusters around the UK in the running to be selected for the government’s CCS funding programme.
