Moller-Maersk targets net zero by 2040
Firm will use methanol for shipping fuel and sustainable aviation fuels to reduce carbon footprint
Shipping and logistics firm AP Moller-Maersk will aim to reach net-zero emissions across its business and supply chains by 2040—ten years earlier than previously targeted. The firm will also set interim 2030 reduction targets to ensure progress towards the long-term goal. These 2030 targets include a 50pc reduction in emissions per transported container in the Maersk Ocean fleet and a 70pc reduction in absolute emissions from fully controlled terminals.
