Indonesia strengthens CCS ties with South Korea
State energy company Pertamina collaborates with Korea National Oil Corporation and ExxonMobil on CCS value chain
Indonesia’s state energy company, Pertamina, has signed a CCS development agreement with state-owned Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) and US oil major ExxonMobil as it steps up efforts to position Indonesia as a regional carbon management hub. The agreement calls for collaboration between the three firms on the development of a transboundary CCS value chain through technology transfers and joint efforts on CO₂ transportation and storage. "The collaboration with KNOC and ExxonMobil underscores Pertamina's dedication to accelerating energy transition and carbon reduction programmes in Indonesia by partnering with international players,” said Nicke Widyawati, president director of Pertamin
