Companies agree to study viability of plant in northern Norway using offshore wind to power electrolysis
Finland-based fuels company St1 Nordic and Norwegian renewables technology firm Horisont Energi have agreed jointly to explore the development of a green ammonia project in Finnmark county, northern Norway. The project will produce green hydrogen via electrolysis powered by offshore wind capacity which St1 plans to develop in the region. St1 has submitted a permit application for the development of an 800MW windfarm and has other offshore wind projects in the pipeline.
