Octopus signs long-term green hydrogen supply deal
UK firm will supply Geopura with green hydrogen for fuel-cell generators from projects due to start up this year
Octopus Hydrogen, a subsidiary of UK energy retailer Octopus, has signed an agreement with fuel-cell power generator firm Geopura to supply it with green hydrogen over a ten-year period. While the deal is comparatively small-scale, at 6t/month, Octopus Hydrogen confirms to Hydrogen Economist it will begin supplying Geopura with green hydrogen produced in the UK before the end of this year. Octopus Hydrogen has two 1MW projects planned to begin operations in the next 6-9 months, with further projects in the pipeline for startup in 2023.
