Germany has taken steps to tap India’s potential as a green hydrogen supplier by agreeing a wide-ranging cooperation deal with the south Asian country covering production, transport and consumption of the clean fuel. The pact with India, signed by the governments on 2 May, comes as Germany courts several potential exporters of clean hydrogen. It expects to rely on imports for about half of its projected hydrogen demand as the war in Ukraine brings a new urgency to its search for suppliers given its need to curb its dependence of Russian gas.
