Angola promotes E&P prospects
The country continues to roll out a busy programme in the hope of reversing the recent decline in its upstream sector
Angola is following up recent fiscal and regulatory reforms by offering more blocks for exploration. And at least some IOCs have reaffirmed their commitment to the country even while pursuing wider policies of decarbonisation and divestment. Angolan energy regulator the ANPG expects to award more than 25 fresh concessions by 2025, matching the number awarded since the start of 2019. The regulator anticipates that a total of eight blocks will have been awarded offshore in the Lower Congo and Kwanza basins by the end of this year.
