Orsted and Eversource project secures final regulatory approval from Boem following environmental review
Offshore wind developer Orsted and utility Eversource Energy have secured final regulatory approval from the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (Boem) to begin construction on the 130MW South Fork Wind project, New York’s first offshore windfarm. Boem has approved the project’s construction and operations plan, which outlines turbine spacing, construction methodology for work occurring in federal waters and marine habitat protection measures.
