The president has signed a series of executive orders to advance his climate policies, but Senate Republicans remain an obstacle
President Joe Biden has moved quickly and aggressively through a series of executive actions to launch a US government-wide effort to combat climate change, after the Trump administration gutted Obama-era initiatives to fight the crisis. However, Biden still needs to find ways to work with, or around, Congress to secure $2tn to fund his clean energy plan to help his administration meet its twin goals of decarbonising the power sector by 2035 and achieving net-zero emissions for the US as a whole 15 years later.
