Woodside advances Scarborough/Pluto Train 2 project

The Australian gas development appears to be back on track despite last year’s FID postponement

Australian producer Woodside expects its integrated Scarborough gas/Pluto Train 2 LNG development to deliver its first cargo in 2026. The company has also expanded the scheme’s offshore production capacity. Woodside expects to make FID on Scarborough later this year, after deferring the decision amid the market turmoil of 2020. The project’s budget has also been expanded by 5pc, to $12bn, and now includes plans to increase Scarborough’s offshore production capacity to 8mn t/yr, compared with 6.5mn t/yr, with the addition of another well.
