Countries in the region are turning to the cleaner-burning fuel for power generation, driving demand for imports
Asia has been at the epicentre of gas demand growth for the past 25 years, with demand more than tripling to nearly 975bcm/yr in 2024, according to the Energy Institute. More than 50% of global net demand growth by 2050 will be in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
