Mopane offers Namibia learning curve
IOCs are focused on the next wave of exploration activity in Namibia and are keen to learn from one another’s results
Galp’s planned farm-out of the Mopane complex in Namibia may not happen until late next year, as the Portuguese firm continues to carry out appraisal work on the offshore prospect. A number of IOCs have been linked to Galp’s intent to farm-down its 80% stake in the sizeable Mopane prospect. Galp CEO Filipe Silva recently told an earnings call that “we have had a number of discussions, and we do have a short list of super-credible parties that are keen on Namibia”.
