Trafigura accelerates decarbonisation efforts
Firm is reducing emissions impact of shipping and mining operations
Resources trading company Trafigura has accelerated its effort to decarbonise its shipping operations, according to the firm’s 2021 sustainability report. In January 2021, the firm pledged to reduce scope one and two greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 30pc below 2020 levels by the end of 2023, and to invest in new technologies. It has already achieved a 22pc reduction against the target and will set a new target in 2024 if it overachieves.
